Our History in Racing

Jochen Rohr is a German racing driver and team owner best known for his success in North American sports car racing during the 1990s, especially in endurance events like the 24 Hours of Daytona. His career includes both driving and managing his own team, Rohr Motorsport.


Career Highlights:


1992 – IMSA Firehawk Series: Gained experience in production-based endurance racing.


1993 – IMSA Supercar Series: Competed in high-performance street car races under the IMSA GT umbrella.


 1994 – IMSA GTU: Drove with John O’Steen and Jeff Purner in the GTU class, earning solid results with 2 Porsche 964 RSR's.


1995 – 24 Hours of Daytona: Finished 2nd in GTS-1 and 4th overall with co-drivers Hurley Haywood, David Murry, and Bernd Mayländer with a just released Porsche 993 GT2.


1995 – SCCA World Challenge: Finished 3rd overall in the competitive sprint series. Also won Manufacturer (Porsche), Driver (David Murry) and Team Championships.


1996 – 24 Hours of Daytona: Rohr Motorsport entered multiple cars, showing increased competitiveness.


1997 – 24 Hours of Daytona: Won GT1 class in a Porsche 911 GT2 Evo with Harald Grohs, Andy Pilgrim, and Arnd Meier.


1997 – PSR Championship: Rohr Motorsport won the championship with drivers like Andy Pilgrim and Allan McNish.


1998 – 24 Hours of Daytona: Entered a Porsche 911 GT1 Evo, finishing 2nd overall and 1st in GT1. Drivers included Allan McNish, Danny Sullivan, Jörg Müller, Uwe Alzen, and Dirk Müller—a standout privateer result against factory teams.


Legacy:

Rohr is respected as both a skilled endurance racer and a visionary team owner. His ability to field competitive cars and attract top-level talent made Rohr Motorsport a major force in late-'90s sports car racing.
